The Florida project starring William Defoe and directed by Sean Baker but I like to add a outstanding performance by Brooklynn Prince as Moonee.
I just have to say that This film Is incredible with today’s film which are either to much action or too much culturally oriented, its nice to watch a simple film with outstanding story and performances, don’t you worry there is no SPOILERS in this write up its more on my analysis for this film
First things first the performances of the actors and actresses are indescribable SPECIALLY the performances of the child performance specially Brooklynn Princes role as Moonee , Its rarely to see performances like this specially for her age but delivering that emotion and letting us viewer be part of her emotion is just really breath taking and this one scene near the ending of the film is just emotional, I would like to say the perfect performance of kid who would want to be with her friend I mean really that really ma Want to add a caption to this image? I guess what makes this film simple is how it was made there wasn’t too much location and music wasn’t that much moistly you can hear are just ambiance noise but it doesn’t destruct the film but it makes the film even more real, the film doesn’t show much crying only in the end but the misfits and the bond between Moone’s friends and with her mother it shows the story alone, Me being a filmmaker its nice to take a few pointers with how this film was made, the simplicity of it what makes a good film is a good story and a good actors, with today’s culture that making film is all about special effects, good looking actors/actress or a film that is to scary or too brutal, it good to sometimes make a film that is just simple and more story driven
I would also like to point out the end, some people might not like how the film ended but I guess this was a perfect ending for the film, my thought is that if you watch the film you know the ending already but creating that significant memory would last a life time now its hard to understand that statement if you haven’t watch the film yet so I suggest you watch it
overall this film is wonderful its award worthy its sad that it didn’t manage to get a nomination in the golden globe only for William Defoe performance as a best supporting actor which is still is great, I do hope that this film will be a line up in the Oscars and also I hope that the Oscar would recognized these kids who were a part of this film
